We know stepping isn’t normally allowed in netball, but for once we’ll let this one slide!
West Coast Fever have taken another significant step towards officially making RAC Arena their permanent home venue, following a renewed commitment from the City of Perth.
The WA netball super stars first took to the Arena court in 2013. The Fever spread across Perth over the next five years, resulting in an average attendance far greater than any other Suncorp Super Netball club in 2018. To round off the season, they set a National League attendance record at the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final, which saw 13,722 fans cheering them on.
The City of Perth officially joined Fever as a Major Partner for the inaugural Suncorp Super Netball season in 2017, and estimated that the 2018 decider injected more than $1 million into the local Perth economy.
West Coast Fever Managing Director Simon Taylor is excited about this step forward for the club.
“RAC Arena is the best netball venue in Suncorp Super Netball, and one that is certainly popular with our Members and fans, and I look forward to seeing them continue to support us passionately in 2019.”
A 2019 Suncorp Super Netball fixture will be released on Wednesday, December 5 2018.
