“RAC Arena gave the sneakerheads a little something to get excited about”

Sneakerland is about to kick off and the sneakerheads of Perth are ready and raring to go.

We sat down with Jamal Diallo, Sneakerland event organiser and owner of 1Off Store, to talk all things shoes. Jamal lives and breathes sneakers, starting with his very first pair of Jordan 3 Black Cements. Since then, his collection has grown to include a pair of 1994 Jordan 1 Chicagos, one of his most prized possessions.

So with only five sleeps to go, here’s the low down on the sneakiest event in Perth.

First things first, what can punters expect when they come to Sneakerland?

Attendees can expect to find some of the craziest sneakers on the market.

There will be over 2,000 pairs up for sale from local vendors and sneaker stores like 1OFF, Fluent, Cold Wave and more. Local businesses and brands such as Cabinet Noir, Raw War, Medicle Studios will also have stalls with exclusive releases and special deals.

On top of this, attendees will be able to enjoy good music for the whole day with some of Perth’s best DJs on the decks, plus Uncle Joe’s barbers will be giving free haircuts.

There will also be competitions and giveaways throughout the day, with more than $10,000 in prizes to be won!

What types of items will up for sale?

There will be about 35 vendors in total selling sneakers, sneaker accessories, vintage clothing and local WA brands.

Can just anyone bring sneakers in to trade and sell?

Yes! All attendees can bring along up to two pairs on the day. We have special trader passes for people who want to bring up to 15 pairs to sell/trade without having a stall.

These passes can be purchased by applying through 1Off Store.

What is the most valuable sneaker that you know will be there?

We will be auctioning off a pair of Nike Dunk SB Low Freddy Kruger for VIP ticket holders. This particular pair is valued at around $30,000.

Woah. How do we get our hands on those?

We will be running auctions for some of the most exclusive sneakers and accessories, which only VIP ticket holders will be able to participate in. VIP’s will also have access to a Lounge with free food and refreshments, courtesy of Hennessy.

We heard a raffle draw is also on the cards. Can you tell us about this?

There will be many raffles being run throughout the day, and all ticket holders will be eligible to win! Some of the vendors will also be running raffles and giveaways, so follow their pages to stay up to date.

Speaking sneaker all day is hungry work. What would you recommend to keep us kicking on?

Upperhand burgers will be serving delicious food all day long, alongside RAC Arena’s usual crowd pleasers.

Get your sole mates together and sneak out at Sneakerland when it all kicks off on Saturday 31st July at RAC Arena. Final tickets on sale now through Ticketek.
