Perth Arena are proud to announce that their founding partner, RAC, will become the official naming rights partner of the venue.

As of 1 September, Western Australia’s landmark home of live entertainment will be known as RAC Arena, after a naming rights partnership with the 113-year-old, fully WA-owned membership organisation was recently finalised.

“Having been a close partner since 2013 we’re very excited to announce RAC as our new naming rights partner. RAC is a brand synonymous with excellent member service, and with over a million West Australians being RAC members, it’s a brand we know and trust,” said Michael Scott, General Manager of the Arena.

“After the successful launch of the RAC Local Lounge earlier this year, we’re excited to see where this next level of partnership can take us and the people of Western Australia.”

The deal fulfils the McGowan Government’s 2017 election commitment to sell the naming rights in support of Budget repair.

A major supporter of local jobs and the WA economy, RAC employs more than 1400 people throughout metropolitan and regional Western Australia. The organisation plays a critical role in advocating for better mobility, road safety and transport in Western Australia and supports local jobs in a range of WA industries, including its flagship roadside assistance service, travel, tourism, insurance, security and auto services.

Since its opening with Sir Elton John in November 2012, the Arena has held an average of 80 events per year, hosting a variety of entertainment from ice events, basketball games and the Hopman Cup tennis, to musical acts like P!nk and Celine Dion. Last year, the venue was ranked as #5 in Billboard’s top worldwide venues of its size for ticket sales.

“Perth Arena is recognised by promoters, artists and sporting teams as one of the greatest entertainment venues in the world,” said Sport and Recreation Minister Mick Murray.

“We are delighted RAC has been able to beat out national competition in securing this deal, making sure the State’s world-class arena is attached to a truly local organisation.”
