Ready to get front and centre to some of the best sporting events Perth has to offer? Here’s what all need to know.
UFC 305 – August 18 2024
The Octagon returned to RAC Arena on August 18th 2024, for the highly anticipated Ultimate Fighting Champion 305 event, and it was a knockout night for true MMA lovers. The event marked the promotion’s third visit to Perth, the first since UFC 284 in February 2023, and the start of a multi-year agreement to host biannual events in the city.
The UFC Middleweight Championship between current champion Dricus Du Plessis and former two-time champion Israel Adesanya was exciting. South Africa’s Du Plessis successfully defended his UFC middleweight championship against Nigeria’s Adesanya in front of 14,000 fans at RAC Arena.
While the middleweight title fight drew eyeballs, the co-main event between Perth local Steve Erceg and New Zealand’s Kai-France fought for your attention. The co-event ultimately ended in Kai-France taking home the Championship in the first round. Despite not winning the fight, local Steve Erceg still made WA proud.
We look forward to the next UFC event hosted at the RAC arena.
