Facilities
In collaboration with our community partner, Autism Association of WA, we have developed a purpose built Quiet Room to assist those with sensory sensitivities. Located on Level 1, opposite door 17, visitors will be able to chill out and relax with bean bags, cuddle chairs and a calming water feature. Our hope is that this area offers a safe and quiet place for patrons who can get overstimulated by the event environment, so they feel more comfortable at RAC Arena.
You are able to bring in beverages into this space but please note it is a food free zone.
Services
People with mobility concerns are able to use the priority lane at Entry A to access the venue. This lane is located on the far left-hand side when facing the main entrance. As part of the venue’s security measures, an A4 bag policy is in place for all events. There are exceptions to this rule, should a patron need to bring in medical items that require a larger bag.
The sunflower program has been introduced at RAC Arena. The sunflower is a globally recognised symbol for non-visible disabilities, also known as hidden disabilities or invisiable disabilities. Patrons may choose to wear a lanyard throughout an event to discreetly identify to venue staff that they may need extra help, time or guidance. If you need additional assistance, please approach one of the staff. Lanyards can be borrowed from our Information Desk located in the main foyer on the ground level.
Fidget toys may also be borrowed from the Information Desk.
Audio Assistance
RAC Arena utilises a Wi-Fi- based hearing assistance system via your own mobile device. Visit our information desk on the ground floor to find out more. Patrons using the hearing assistance system need to ensure that their mobile device is adequately charged prior to the event.
Noise excluding headphones are available from our information desk on the ground floor.
Building Design
RAC Arena is specifically designed so that our services, information and facilities are accessible to all. All levels of the Arena are accessible via lifts and our two main entries, as well as our Corporate Suite Entry, are fully accessible.
Up to 2% of our seats are specifically designed for wheelchair visitors and their companions to sit together. Counters at our Box Office and food outlets are also designed at a height accessible for wheelchair use.
410 handrails have been installed along the arena bowl stairways to assist patrons, especially those with mobility issues, navigate the steps with safety and ease
Restrooms
Dedicated restroom facilities have been designed for visitors with special needs and are easily accessible on every level of the venue. Accessible facilities are also provided in the change rooms for teams, officials and performers.
